A new work path, with an interesting perk.

Dear You,

I know you never imagined that I would need to “hustle” the way I do at this point in my life. I mean, who knew that I would one day rely on contract work for income, that wasn’t photography related?

Certainly not me.

This new work has its challenges to navigate, that’s for sure, like irregular shifts, lots of driving, frequent early mornings (and I mean VERY early), and a lack of a routine sleep schedule.

But there are definite pros, too. I am my own boss and no longer have to play corporate politics. I don’t take work home anymore (in multiple ways) and am noticing an improvement in my sleep quality, since I’m not stressing over that work 24/7/365. Plus, I’m getting more physical activity in during each shift, even with all the driving.

And then there are times when I get to see things like this:

Sunrise near Flandreau, SD

You know how I’m a sucker for a beautiful sunrise or sunset.

I hope to work out a way to tag on some more landscape photo work while I’m out and about on these shifts. Keep your fingers crossed.

Love,

Me

P.S. I know the image didn’t align with the body, even though I told it to. Don’t worry, a new theme is already in the works.

Stepping Outside of His Comfort Zone

Centerfold by Hayden

Hayden came to me this morning, and said, “Mom, I want to try something different.” Of course, his statement piqued my curiosity, so I asked him to clarify what he meant by “different”.  He replied, “I want to do something risque. Something outside of my comfort zone.”  Okay. I was not in the least bit opposed to fulfilling his request. However, given where we live, I knew it would be a little tricky. So we got to work.

The outfit was my idea. I just didn’t feel he needed to do a full nude this early in his portfolio. And the modesty patch was for, well… you know. You’re welcome.
